The host of CTV’s Dwabremu, Nana Otu Darko has threatened to commission the Saglemi affordable Housing Project if government fails to do so within the next three months.
The show host was speaking on Dwabremu on CTV, Tuesday, 15 February 2022.
According to the show host, many Ghanaians are facing accommodation challenges while the state houses remain unoccupied.
The Presenter noted that if government fails to commission the houses for use by the public within the next 3 months, he will invite the media and security and organise an event to declare the houses open.
“I have said it over and over again and I will issue this ultimatum to our leaders that, if they fail to commission the Saglemi Housing Project, I will commission it myself.”
The Saglemi housing project was started at Prampram in the Ningo Prampram District of the Greater Accra Region under the erstwhile Mahama-led government.
Years on, the houses remain unoccupied.
It was started in 2012 to cater for the housing deficit of the country.
It was meant to be a 5000-residential facility, with 1 to 3 bedrooms for low-income earners.
However, the project was stalled after the Akufo-Addo-led government assumed office.
The project was stalled to allow investigations into allegations of procurement breaches.
