Since the very inception of the 8th parliament of the 4th republic of Ghana when the Ghanaian electorate either intentionally or inadvertently voted for a hung parliament in their general elections of 7thDecember 2020, a lot of questionable activities and pronouncements have been taking place in Ghana, especially, in parliament.
The Speaker of parliament, Rt. Honourable Alban Bagbin, now a seeming towering King by his adopted dress code, has equally been adopting methods and taking decisions that are unfamiliar with parliament, although, not illegal, I should think.
Some of the parliamentarians whom I find to be total misfits, have been engaging in fisticuffs and deliberate acts of sabotage to pull the nation back from her assumed forward ever march to achieving economic prosperity for the nation and the citizenry under the sterling leadership of His Excellency the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
These parliamentarians, especially those in NDC camp, have taken to strong partisan positions when it comes to deliberating on bills and other issues the approval of which may invigorate the never-going backward march to the envisaged economy paradise. It is obvious that they are doing what befits their diabolic acts with intent to gaining political power in any future general elections. They are not doing what they are doing in the best interest of Ghana and Ghanaians but to satisfy their selfish and parochial interests of gaining power to come and “create, loot and share” Ghana’s money among themselves.
I am not going to dwell on the collective devilish behaviour by our so-called honourable members of parliament who are rather worse than dishonourable persons completely unfit to represent constituents in parliament, concluding from their selfish, partisan and parochial interest attitudes. However, I am going to single out the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Honourable Kingsford Alban Bagbin, the obvious King of Parliament, by his dress code of late, to discuss.
As we have King of Kong, thus King Kong, so does Ghana parliament have a king in the person of Alban Bagbin who may now be King Parliament, if I am not mistaken.
Oh King Alban Bagbin, are you a saboteur, or a man of integrity with the welfare of Ghana at heart? Are you serious as a Speaker or simply a malevolent partisan with intent to cause the failure of the progressive NPP government to help sneak in your incompetent, clueless and most corrupt NDC political party and her leadership of same characteristics into power?
King Alban Bagbin should not assume that all Ghanaians are fools to not be able to understand his mind about the parliamentary discussion on the E-levy. Whenever the issue is presented before the floor of parliament, he has excuses not to be in the Speaker’s seat to preside over it. He will either be in Dubai attending his medical review, or in the loo attending to nature’s call. He always has flimsy excuses not to be present in parliament for a vote to be called and cast on what many a Ghanaian without vision and the love of the nation at heart, has come to tag as very controversial, irrelevant and unworthy to be approved for implementation.
Wearing a kingly clothe is not what makes an intelligent, honest and farsighted Speaker but one’s actions taken to make sure proper laws are passed and implemented in the best interest of the nation.
Very soon, there will be no money to pay public service workers in Ghana. There will be no money for the government to continue to finish the projects that have been started. This is all because the government is being starved of revenue by the unhelpful and visionless attitude of King Alban Bagbin and his colluding NDC members of parliament.
If King Alban Bagbin is unhealthy to not be able to perform his Speakership functions properly, he had better resign to concentrate on his health rather than escaping to attend medical reviews in Dubai when he is rather most needed in Ghana.
I don’t blame him but the Ghana judiciary with its corrupt and decrepit methods of trial and delivery of justice; too many unnecessary delays through postponements with intent to twist justice. Had it not been so, the Assin North member of parliament and the other lady in Western region said to be of three nationalities, would not be in parliament by now to facilitate the diabolism of the NDC caucus in parliament to engender the malicious tricks by King Alban Bagbin.
Alban Bagbin has not shed his NDC cloak of malevolence, trickeries and fabrications of lies hence his demonstrated presentations of flimsy excuses to thwart the approval of the e-levy. He is always seeking a hole to bolt into whenever the e-levy comes for discussion or voting on the floor of parliament.
Should King Parliament come up with further medical review excuses to stay out of parliament and in the country, then I will recommend for his destoolment as King and removal from the Speakership.
Finally, the Chief Justice should ensure that the shameful and unprofessional delay tactics adopted by Ghanaian courts for all stupid reasons bordering heavily on corruption and sabotage are weeded out of the justice delivery system or else, Ghana will never prosper but to continue to wobble or stagnate in economic deprivation with its attendant armed robberies, arsons, defamation of characters and all sorts of crimes as are prevalent in Ghana of yesterday and today.
For me, King Alban Bagbin is a saboteur concluding from his untoward escapisms. Can he prove me wrong by choosing to sit in his hot Speaker’s seat without scuttling to loo or Dubai come any future parliamentary cast of vote on e-levy?
More fire will come from Rockson Adofo, the fearless and no-nonsense but proud son of Kumawu/Asiampa soil, should King Alban Bagbin and his unruly NDC members of parliament continue to conduct themselves so irresponsibly to the detriment of the development of Ghana.
