Former Black Stars coach, CK Akonnor has denied reports linking him to the vacant Hearts of Oak coaching role.
Having parted ways with Samuel Boadu after just three games into the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season, the Phobian Club are yet to name a substantive gaffer.
The leadership of the club have named David Ocloo as the assistant coach and interim coach as they continue to haunt for a new gaffer.
Akonnor, who remains one of the few coaches to coach Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko speaking in an interview with Graphic Sports dismissed the reports linking him to the reigning FA Cup champions.
Akonnor, who has been unemployed since being sacked as Black Stars coach in September last year, said he had not made any contact with any official of Hearts and the rumors linking him with the club were a figment of someone’s imagination.
“It is not true that I am being considered for the Hearts of Oak job because no one has spoken to me on that,” the former AshantiGold SC and Dreams FC boss said.
Hearts of Oak are still in the market hunting for a substantive coach with reports indicating that former Kotoko coach, Prosper Nerteh Ogum, had turned down an offer for the job.
However, Black Galaxies and Samartex 1996 coach, Annor Walker, has disclosed that he had been approached by Hearts concerning the vacant job.
